Our story

A legacy of giving, built over decades

Founded in 1991 by the late Saul Pomerantz, the Foundation was born from a simple belief: children should not be disadvantaged by circumstances beyond their control. Pomerantz House, one of the Foundation’s first undertakings, offered free Hebrew language lessons to local children — a sign of the inclusive, community-first spirit that has guided us ever since.

After Saul’s passing in 2002, his son Terry carried the torch with the same quiet dedication. Today, Derick and Jonathan Pomerantz lead a third generation of stewardship — honoring a family tradition that has never wavered in its commitment to Montreal’s most vulnerable children.
